Nathan Sim graduated with an Honours Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with a minor in Economics from University of Toronto. A Software Engineer knowledgable with both front and back end applications as well as standard network design architecture. A creative thinker and persistent by nature, he codes in Python, C#, C, VB, HTML, CSS, PHP, Javascript, Java, SQL, Assembly, and Node.js, using tools such as Android Studio, Visual Studio, XML, Json, VB-Net, VB-Core, Blazor, Docker, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Verilog, React, Grafana, Influxdb, Selenium, Beautiful Soup, Apache, Nginx and linux network applications. He gained some valuable experience in developing several on board train and eBus web software applications while freelancing for the TTC under the direction and supervision of a TTC engineering supervisor. He currently works for ALSTOM as a Software Development Engineer MPU with the TCMS department. During his undergrad, he has obtained valuable knowledge in a wide variety of topics, with focus on data structures, sorting algorithms, and time complexities, as well as experience working on design, development, and deployment of large-scale software systems with regard to project management, requirements engineering, and performance analysis within an agile environment. On a personal note, he is very passionate about music and enjoys playing the piano in his leisure time, a trait he acquired at 7 years of age, achieving up to the Grade 9 certificate from the Royal Conservatory of Music.
